My Thoughts:(4 stars)

I told myself, when actor Jang Hyuk comes back from his army service, I will surely watch his next drama. Behold, he is doing a drama alright! But a genre or theme that I have avoided to watch so far. Yes, its one of those dramas with incurable diseases and the main characters dies in the end, or so I thought. I contemplated for a while, “should I watch or not to watch?”

Characters:
I gave in, and watched it, man was I ever wrong on my pre-assumed cliched drama thought. I loved how the story is not rushed and takes its time to reveal the intertwined strings that connect the characters. The actress Gong Hyo Jin as I have also seen her in other dramas such as “Let’s go to school Sang-doo and my favorite, “Hello Teacher Biscuit”, did a wonderful portrayal of Young shin, an unwed mother who is struggling to make ends meet and to take care of a father that has dementia and a daughter who is infected of the HIV virus. She is strong, holding the family together, working odd jobs and it really touched my heart that she’s not the type of girl who comes after the guy to take the responsibility for her because of their child, and instead tries to stand firm and raised their child all by herself. My only complaint is that, whenever Choi Suk Hyun’s mother comes after her and say hurtful things to her, she just stands there and quietly takes it all in. That might be her nature, but as human beings there are times that your bucket of patience could overflow and you just had to fight back! I was mad at that! grrrrr. Jang Hyuk as always is superb in playing as a jerk, arrogant doctor who can’t come to terms with his girlfriend’s death and mistake. Shin Sung Rok, this is my first time seeing him acting, and I am impressed, specially on times, that he longs to be a Dad to Lee Bom. All the characters are sooo lovable that it pains you when they have misconception of each other.

Story:

Each and every episode left me breathless and full of tears. I have shed tears not because of pity for Young shin’s family’s painful human strife but for the courage, love and strong bonds that keep them together. This series did not give emphasis on Lee Bom’s struggles with the pains of the disease but showed gracefully the human change, brought upon the understanding of the disease. I admire Young Shin’s courage in dealing with her daughter and her illness. Living each day, trying to be strong, putting up a fake smile just for her daughter’s sake. The agony of trying to pass on each day as if its just normal, but deep within there’s a dread that one day they might get shunned, if Lee Bom’s illness be revealed. The sentence that struck me most is:

If I have become your miracle, then its
because you first awakened my life’s miracles.
To you, I say…
THANK YOU

This drama, gave a whole lot of meaning to the word thank you, for this word implies the life changing appreciation in life and people.

Can Gi-tae overcome his past bad attitude, get his house and company back and win Yang-soon’s heart in the process?

My Own Thoughts: 4/5 stars
This was my very first drama ever watched. A girl who is from a countryside falls into a situation where she has to work off as a housemaid to payoff her parents debt. The storyline is perfectly executed and the main character’s chemistry sizzles through the screen. This drama is enjoyable to watch except the dragging parts to where they have to win his company back. The delivery of their lines is perfect, specially Yang-soon’s countryside accent! The characters’ emotions are well portrayed, and can be felt throughout the drama specially in my favorite scene. T_T

A must see! And good to own for its enjoyable value!

16 episodes

Rain (bi)
Han Eun Jeung

After returning from her vacation, aspiring author Han Ji Eun discovers that her family home has been sold – without her consent – to famous actor Lee Young Jae. Young Jae has been trying to hide out from some nasty rumors about his sexuality and sees a perfect opportunity: he and Ji Eun will enter into a contractual marriage and pretend to be a real couple. In exchange, Ji Eun will do the cooking and cleaning and the house will be hers again after six months. Sounds simple, right? Wrong! Young Jae has been allowing the rumors to fly because he’s really too afraid to tell his childhood friend Kang Hae Won that he’s in love with her. Hae Won is blissfully unaware of Young Jae’s feelings because she is love with their other childhood friend, Yoo Min Hyuk. As if that weren’t enough of a love tangle, Ji Eun starts to fall for Young Jae despite their promise to keep things ‘just business’, and Min Hyuk starts to fall for Ji Eun. Will everyone end up happy, or will there be more than one broken heart?

My Own thoughts: 5/5
This drama is a romantic-comedy drama that was adapted from a manwha with the same name. It’s a show that is veering away from the tragic, sad dramas on that year. I gave this a perfect 5 star because it only not satisfied me with its happy ending, but the characters left me breathless, wanting the drama to continue and never end. When I watch this drama, it seems that I am in my own world, laughing away my problems.

The character’s interaction and chemistry is more than a hundred percent. The portrayal of each actor on their persona emits through them and as I watch them, I don’t see them as the actors but the character they portray. There never was a dull moment in this drama, its just perfect, and because of my obsession I bought the original from YESASIA.COM and its well worth it!
